THE SLIM DRIVE SYSTEM
The SLIM drive system is an LSM drive. It consists of SLIM stators mounted on the track, a power supply consisting of frequency converters and power distribution as well as the S-NET probe system.
The drive system is supplied as a complete system tailored to the customer’s needs.
The SLIM stator is characterized by the following features:
- Fully encapsulated design (IP 68)
- Use of several parallel tracks for higher forces possible
- vertical and hanging versions
- Typical air gap 5-7 mm
- Convection or forced cooling
- Stator provided for star and delta connection
The SLIM drive system offers the following advantages over conventional drives:
- Maintenance- and wear-free – 10 million load cycles
- very high speeds up to 50 m/s (= 180 km/h)
- high drive forces up to 200 kN (at 3,000 A)
very high dynamics - Acceleration up to 100 m/s² (= 10g)
- reliable – long service life
- small drag distances:
- high speed or many short-stroke individual movements
- high-precision positioning: no backlash and no spring effect in the drive train
- high synchronization accuracyhigh repeat accuracy (= high path accuracy)
- very good control properties
- high stiffness of the control loop
- comparatively very quiet
- insensitive drive for harsh environmental conditions
- freely scalable (endlessly extendable)
- direct, non-contact and vibration-free application of force to the object to be moved
- low transverse forces due to symmetrical design
- meets the highest safety requirements
- purely passively moving objects: no power supply, no sensors and no electronics
- Can also be used as a motor brake at the same time
